Inarú is 18 days old

Here's something I wrote about 2 weeks ago:

Inarú is now 18 days old. And what a character. I still can’t get over how much beautiful black hair she has. She is a strong little girl; she has been raising her head since the day she was born. We think she will start rolling over soon. And I have to fight with her little fists to get the bottle into her mouth.

Her belly button fell off. Of course I kept it. I put it in a ziplock baggie. It looks well on its way to becoming an innie. I’ve been breastfeeding her and also giving her baby formula. It’s about 50-50 or 40-60. It’s been much more difficult than I thought. Sometimes she takes the breast very naturally, and other times she seems to fight me and can’t find a way to latch on. At those times I try for about 30 minutes, then give up and give her a bottle. When she calms down, I give her the breast as a dessert. : ) I’ve been lucky to not have any problems like extreme pains in my breasts or cracked or sore nipples. The baby has not been colicky, nor has she spit up any great amounts. She DID do a super-poopie, where she dirtied herself from the back all the way up front to her belly button. I gave up trying to clean her and just put her under the faucet.

It's only been 18 days, but it feels like she's been here forever.
