Inarú meets Puerto Rico

I took Inarú to Puerto Rico at the beginning of June. I took a mini vacation of 9 days to see my brother graduate from High School. Inarú had not yet met my two brothers and one sister, all her great-grandparents, and Adal's brother and sister.
The logistics of travelling with a young child were daunting. I brought the stroller, carrier, base to turn carrier into car seat, food (for her and me, as they are now SELLING airplane food!!!), diaper bag, and MY carry on. Never again. Next time I will travel with Adal. Or I will bring less crap next time. At least she was not fussy or crying on the way there, and slept completely through the way back.
Once there, I was surprised how NOT relaxing it was. I didn't have a lot of free time, the baby's schedule and mood dictated what and when we did do stuff. And more visits had to be scheduled and coordinated so family could get to see Inarú. I had to admit that it was cool to see Inarú interact with new people and family. And likewise see their reaction to her. My great-grandmother cried, she was so happy.
And Inarú got to do some pretty typical Puerto Rican things. Like take 2 and 3 baths a day because it was so hot, take baths in the deep sink next to the washer (I think every baby in Puerto Rico has taken at least one bath in their life this way), sleep on a quilt on the floor (tiled floors are cooler than a bed, and babies for some reason sleep better there), get powdered all over to relieve the heat a bit, and, well, sweat like a pig.
You should have seen her hair. It got so curly she looked like Shirley Temple! SO CUTE! But she got so spoiled with everyone paying attention to her and holding her that she was a real pain when we got back. And of course, you know how Daddy missed her. I don't think he'll let us take off like that by oursleves again!
Photos will be up very soon.
