Playing catch up

I KNOW how far behind we are! I underestimated how busy life could get. It has been especially busy at work, what with being a supervisor/manager type who seems to get caught up in meeting after meeting with little time to do *real* work. And it seems that after being cloistered at home with Inarú for so long has left my immune system lazy. So I've gotten every cold, flu, stomach virus, AND allergies around. Let's just say my weekends haven't been very fun lately. And then there's the picking up the messes we make during the week, laundry that never ends, and all the little errands and major shopping trips that have to be made if we want to be able to survive on food that doesn't come from a chain. And I HAVE to find time to play with Inarú of course!! I mean, she's just soooo cute!!

The last post was about a month ago. And so much has happened. Inarú finally met her Grandfather Sisín, and I don't know who had a better time. Grandpa couldn't stop looking at her, and Inarú could sense his air of authority. It was beautiful to see them bond like they did. Grandpa would speak and she would smile at him. And he held her a lot! Once he even fed her. That's a big deal for Grandpa, he doesn't really like holding babies because they make him nervous.

My first Mother's Day was very nice. It's still hard to think of myself as a mother, but I am, and I have fully embraced it. It's just so much fun, even with the hard work. Inarú got me roses, she called me to the crib and there they were. The most beautiful present a mother could get, her child laying in a bed with roses and a smile. And we spent most of the day hugging and kissing and holding. Well, at least I did. All she did was laugh and smile and drool and be just the cutest little girl EVER.

I realize how IN LOVE I sound, but I can't help it. I thought the newness of it all would dissipate and I would get used to it, but it hasn't! I love her more and more every day and find something to be amazed at always. Let's see if I feel the same when she's fourteen! Or even two!

So what is she up to now? Well, she's drooling because she's very close to getting her first tooth. I think I see a white spot under her lower gums. She's starting to put everything in her mouth now, so any toy in her reach will get the taste test. She's now reaching for toys and picking them up. She laughs like crazy when you kiss her and try to eat her up. She pushes herself all over the crib on her back. She still *talks* to her dragon and her fishies. She just started reaching up her arms when you call to her when she wants you to pick her up. (That's the cutest thing!!!) Her hair is getting curly and there are some disturbing bald spots while she "molts" (?) her hair. She now eats solids! She has experimented with sweet potatoes and peas, and now is trying carrots. She's a very messy eater, but she seems to enjoy it, and we will be posting photos and maybe a video on that.

Inarú and I will be taking a trip to Puerto Rico for about 9 days to see family. She will be meeting both of her great-grandmas and great-grandpas, my two brothers and one sister, and Adal's brother and sister. I hope there's a little piece of her left for me to bring back! And Inarú will take her first dip in the Caribbean Sea, in one of three of her brand new bathing suits (!). I'm sure I will take about 300 photos of everything.

BREAKING NEWS FLASH: She flipped over for the first time yesterday!!! Adal has informed me that she now flips over from her back to her tummy! How exciting, and it's now on camera and being posted soon...
